And so, I embarked on my first family holiday as a married adult, which provided unexpected insight into parenthood!
Passports, check...suncream, check...have you been to the toilet?! I'm pretty sure this level of responsibility and stress must compare with taking small children abroad...surely?!
The very routines you are forced to comply with as a child seem to come back in full force as a 'mature' adult - agree breakfast time at dinner, sort out lunch plans at breakfast and then formulate dinner plans at lunch, job done; sleep, eat, repeat!
And so it goes...mum organises dad, other half organises me, mother in law organises everyone....before I know it I am falling into the cycle, rendered useless by my efficient, organised better half - it's no wonder that my dad is incapable of making a cup of tea let alone a decision?!
All in all it's been a lot of fun, organised, scheduled fun, but fun all the same! Roll on the Norwegian cruise in 2016...hope we avoid the need to throw anyone overboard!
