Parents 'R' not us

Why is it, that the majority of people who have children appear to lack any sort of parenting ability? On top of being useless, they then decide to take their offspring on an aeroplane?! Damn these breeders!

I am currently surrounded by 3 month old twins (owned by some obnoxious princess who insists on walking up and down whilst cooing), a snivelling brother and sister under the age of three (who appear to have every possible electronic device known to man) and another pair of snotty, nappy clad girls (owned by a couple of wet middle aged women who wouldn't look out of place with Patsy and a bottle of Smirnoff), who are currently using the seats as a trampoline and the aisle as a running track.

Whilst being stuck in the middle of this chaos, I've noticed that those responsible for these uncontrollable bundles of 'joy' appear oblivious, happily sipping wine, talking baby shite and ignoring my death stare...quite frankly, my cats would behave better on a plane!

Perhaps you grow an invisible cloak when you have children, one that makes you oblivious to those around you, the irritation your offspring cause and of course one that reflects the death stare...damn those breeders!

Happy families!

And so, I embarked on my first family holiday as a married adult, which provided unexpected insight into parenthood!

Passports, check...suncream, check...have you been to the toilet?! I'm pretty sure this level of responsibility and stress must compare with taking small children abroad...surely?!

The very routines you are forced to comply with as a child seem to come back in full force as a 'mature' adult - agree breakfast time at dinner, sort out lunch plans at breakfast and then formulate dinner plans at lunch, job done; sleep, eat, repeat!

And so it goes...mum organises dad, other half organises me, mother in law organises everyone....before I know it I am falling into the cycle, rendered useless by my efficient, organised better half - it's no wonder that my dad is incapable of making a cup of tea let alone a decision?!

All in all it's been a lot of fun, organised, scheduled fun, but fun all the same! Roll on the Norwegian cruise in 2016...hope we avoid the need to throw anyone overboard!

Walk on by...

Inspired by a recent documentary on the Bloomsbury group, I've started to walk more often in the hope that it gets my creative juices flowing - well it has and it's prompted me to log a blog, first time this year!

As I strolled across Waterloo Bridge I must have travelled twice the distance through walking around people and dodging side to side.

I started to notice the different walking styles, some anxious, some laboured, some with their head in the pavement...and as I observed it made me think about behaviour and personalities.

My head was up, eyes straight, tunnel vision on the station and nothing was going to stop me - is it then a coincidence that my general attitude is the same....does your walking style project your natural personality?!

Next time you wander, have a look for yourself - do you have to dodge a dawdler, step aside for a selfish shoe shuffler or overtake a pavement hogger?!
